Lleyton Hewitt started his hard court campaign this week in Legg Mason Tennis Classic but was defeated by the defending champ, Juan Martin Del Potro, in a tight three-set match, 4-6 6-3 7-6(2) for a place in the quarters. Once again, Hewitt failed in a tiebreaker.

French tennis player Mathieu Montcourt died at the age of 24 last Tuesday. He was found dead by his girlfriend in his apartment, cause of death still unknown. You’ll be missed Mathieu. God bless you.

Congratulations to Mr. Roger Federer for winning this year’s Wimbledon title and making a world record of having the most slam title men’s singles player after defeating Andy Roddick in an epic match, 5-7 7-6[6] 7-6[5] 3-6 16-14. And to Ms. Serena Williams who won her 11th slam title after defeating defending champ and her sister Venus Williams 7-6 [3] 6-2.

Woot! Sorry for no posting. Well I doubt if there’s anyone who cares to read this so-called blog except for my dearest brother :) . Are we all over the RFedExpress and his record-breaking 15th slam title?

Lleyton Hewitt is going to his first grand slam quarterfinals since 2006 (US Open) after defeating Radek Stepanek in 5 sets 46 26 61 62 62. After playing two lousy sets, Lleyton came back in a classy way and dispatched the Czech.

He will next face World No. 6 Andy Roddick who defeated him in Queen’s couple weeks ago in two breakers. Best of luck Lleyts and may your star keep shining! Must admit he owes a lot from these guys..

Filipino pride, Francis Casey Alcantara lost his singles first round in Wimbledon to Austrian Maximilian Neuchrist in three sets, 2-6 6-4 3-6. He will play with South African Nikala Scholtz in boys’ doubles, see draw here.
